Martin Luther King Jr. Park Pool

City of Long Beach MLK Jr. Park Pool

The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park Pool is an indoor, year-round facility featuring a six-lane, 25 yard pool with One 1-meter and One 3-meter, Maxiflex boards on Durafirm stands and two 7 x 14 trampolines and two dry-boards with port-a-pits.  We are located one block north of Pacific Coast Highway between Lemon and Orange Ave. (On the west side of Orange, across the street from the Pacific Coast Campus parking lot of Long Beach City College.)

Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool

Our home site and pool, located in Belmont Shore neighborhood, was the only indoor complex in Southern California with a full complement of springboards and platforms. However, in 2013 the original building (which was built in 1968) was declared “seismically unsafe” and lead to the downturn of diving and aquatics in the Long Beach area. In 2014, the Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool was demolished and now the area lies in wait for it’s currently planned remodeling project. The project will have 3 competitive pools: 1-50 meter x 25 yard, 1 – 50 meter x 25 meter, and a separate diving well with a full complement of towers and springboards for international competition. We wait in full anticipation for it’s completion and a return home. For more information about this project, please visit: http://www.belmontpool.com
